Celebration of the Birth Cenetenary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika

A tribute was organized by the Department of English, DHSK College(Autonomous) on the 8th of September 2025 to commemorate the Birth Centenary of music maestro Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The Head of the Department, Dr. Madhumita Purakayastha delivered the welcome address. In this regard Dr. Gitali Saikia was invited to deliver a talk on the topic "Subaltern voices in Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's songs" Associate Professor, HCDG College, Nitaipukhuri. She insightfully deliberated on the significance of Dr. Hazarika's songs and works as representative of the voice of the subaltern and the underprivileged. After the brief inaugural session, the cultural session began. Faculties Dr. Trishna Duarah Kalita, Dr. Hanifa Rahman and students from different departments paid tribute to him through their varied cultural performances.
