Inspired by the Digital India initiative launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi, on 1 July 2015, Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College continues to lead the digital transformation of the electoral process.
The college successfully introduced a digital voting system for the Students’ Union Election during the 2017–18 session, when students cast their votes physically using ten computers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, elections could not be conducted during the sessions 2019–20 and 2020–21. The fully online election process was subsequently established, making DHSK College a pioneer in digital student elections.
The entire election process was conducted digitally through the college LMS platform, including nomination submission, scrutiny, campaigning guidelines, voting and counting .
The system was designed to save time and resources, enhance transparency, eliminate malpractices and ensure peaceful polling conditions on campus.
