A tribute was organized by the Department of English on the 12th of September 2024 to commemorate the 98th Birth Anniversary of music maestro Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The Head of the Department, Dr. Madhumita Purakayastha delivered the welcome address. After the brief inaugural session, the cultural session began. Faculties Dr. Trishna Duarah Kalita, Dr. Hanifa Rahman, Dr. Rubab Nomani and students from different departments paid tribute to him through their songs and dance performances. The event came to an end with the performance of a brilliant 'Sangeetalakhya' prepared by a group of students that celebrated his life and achievements through the medium of poetry and songs.
