Lecture on 'Brahmaputra Valley and Tibetan Culture'
A lecture on 'Brahmaputra Valley and Tibetan Culture' was organised on Monday by the Department of Anthropology,DHSK College in association with Free Tibet- A voice from Assam at Srimanta Sankardev Sabhakakhya in DHS Kanoi College on 20.12.2021 (Monday). The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Moromi Talukdar, Associate professor and Head of the Department of Anthropology. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal of DHSK College Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia. Dr.Anup Jyoti Bharali, Associate professor anchored the programme. Mr.Soumyadeep Datta, regional convener, Northeast region (Meghalaya & Assam) Core group of Tibetan Cause while speaking on the topic, said the Brahmaputra valley civilization and Tibetan civilization have similarities. Giving ample examples he said that both cultures are interlinked with each other. He focused on ethnic affinity and also the link of migration of both these cultures. A good number of teachers and students were present at the event and interacted with the resource persons. Dr Nitumoni Saikia, Assistant Professor of the Department of Anthropology delivered the vote of thanks.
