RAS (Responsible Anthropology Students) is a society consists of the students (present and ex students) and teachers of the Department of Anthropology, D.H.S.K. College, which was formed in the year 2013. Each member of the RAS contributes rupees one per day from their pocket money which goes to the needy people by means of kinds and rupee according to the requirements. From the year of its establishment RAS organizes at least one programme in a year which includes different competitions among school students, awareness programme among the villagers etc. The society also donates book and other kinds for school library in village areas basically.
In the year 2021, Department of Anthropology, D.H.S.K. College, initiated a new scheme under RAS which basically for reuse of books and for increasing awareness about the usefulness of reuse of books among the students. Under this scheme the members of the society donates and collects unused old books of different classes (basically of class 11 and 12 standard) and handed over these to the students according to the requirement. Last year (on 28th August, 2021 and on 27th December, 2021) society handed over different books to the authority of the Kuhi Paat Library, a library in the Borbari Gaon of Tengakhat, Dibrugarh for distribution among the students of the village. Now the RAS have more than 50 books of different subject in its collection which can avail by any students according their requirement.
