The Department of Economics at DHSK College, Dibrugarh, organized a comprehensive five-day workshop on "Introductory Mathematical and Statistical Methods for Economics" from 29th May to 2nd June 2023. Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia; Principal, D. H. S. K College along with Vice Principal Dr. Priyadev Goswami, Academic Coordinator Dr. Ananta Kumar Dutta attented the inauguration ceremony of the programme and provided their valuable insights. The workshop aimed to equip students with essential mathematical and statistical tools necessary for economic analysis and research. A total of seven distinguished resource persons from various neighboring colleges graced the workshop with their expertise. Each resource person delivered insightful lectures on different topics, covering crucial aspects of mathematical and statistical methods relevant to economics. The topics included Number System, Correlation and Regression, Differentiation, Probability
Integration and Other relevant topics essential for economic analysis The workshop received overwhelming participation from students, who actively engaged with the lectures and practical sessions. The students greatly benefited from the diverse range of topics covered, gaining a deeper understanding of mathematical and statistical techniques crucial for economic analysis. The interactive sessions allowed students to clarify doubts and deepen their comprehension under the guidance of experienced resource persons.
The "Introductory Mathematical and Statistical Methods for Economics" workshop organized by the Department of Economics, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, proved to be immensely beneficial for the students.
